BITCOIN

Step 1

Open Private Link:
Copyrobo’s copyright service is completed, you will receive an email with the attached Private Proof and Private Link. Once you click on this link, you can find which timestamp options were used for your copyright service with the related Transaction ID and Hash Value (fingerprint) of your timestamped file.

(Your Private link is also present on your Copyrobo user account under the Activities tab on the website & mobile apps).

Step 2
Choose your Bitcoin Block Explorer:
Search on the internet for ‘’Bitcoin Block Explorers’’ or use one of these websites;
Blockchain.info, Blockcypher.com, Blocktrail.com, Bitpay.com,
Blockr.io and Chain.so to check/search for your Transaction ID. These are public blockchain explorers, which can be used to view all previous transactions made on the blockchain.

For the following steps, we use Blockchain.info to explain the verification process. If you are using other block explorers you may see different layouts, terms/titles or information.

Step 3
Verifying through Blockchain.info:
a) Open Blockchain.info
b) Enter your Transaction ID in the search area. If entered correctly, you will see your Transaction ID on the screen. If entered incorrectly, the search pattern will be unrecognized. (Note that any blockchain transaction may normally take hours for confirmation, so if you verify a file soon after it has been timestamped, you will see a message stating “Unconfirmed Transaction.”)
c) Find‘’Output Scripts’’ and ‘’OP_RETURN’’ to see your timestamped file’s Hash Value with the embedded ‘’COPYROBO’’ mark. If you do not see these titles, then scroll down and click on Scripts -> Show scripts & coinbase.

ETHEREUM

Step 1

Open Private Link:
Once Copyrobo’s copyright service is completed, you will receive an email with the attached Private Proof and Private Link. Once you click on this link, you can find which timestamp options were used for your copyright service with the related Transaction ID and Hash Value (fingerprint) of your timestamped file.

(Your Private link is also present on your Copyrobo user account under the Activities tab on the website & mobile apps).

Step 2
Choose your Ethereum Block Explorer:
Search on the Internet for ‘’Ethereum Block Explorer’’ or use one of these websites:
Etherscan.io, Etherchain.org to check/search for your Transaction ID (TxHash). These are public blockchain explorers, which can be used to view all previous transactions made on the blockchain.

For the following steps, we use Etherscan.io to explain the verification process. If you are using other block explorers, you may see different layouts, terms/titles or information.

Step 3
Verifying through Etherscan.io:
a) Open Etherscan.io
b) Enter your Transaction ID in the search area. If entered correctly, you will see your Transaction ID on the screen. If entered incorrectly, you will see invalid search string warning. (Note that any blockchain transaction may normally take hours for confirmation)
c) From the resulting information, please find ‘’Input Data’’ and click on ‘’Convert To Ascii’’ to see your timestamped file’s Hash Value.

LITECOIN

Step 2
Choose your Litecoin Block Explorer:
Search on the internet for ‘’Litecoin Block Explorers’’ or use one of these websites;
Litecoin.net, Bchain.info, Blockcypher.com,
and Chain.so to check/search for your Transaction ID. These are public blockchain explorers, which can be used to view all previous transactions made on the blockchain.

For the following steps, we use Blockcypher.com to explain the verification process. If you are using other block explorers you may see different layouts, terms/titles or information.

Step 3
Verifying through Blockcypher:
a) Open https://live.blockcypher.com/ltc
b) Enter your Transaction ID in the search area. If entered correctly, you will see your Transaction ID on the screen. If entered incorrectly, the search pattern will be unrecognized. (Note that any blockchain transaction may normally take hours for confirmation, so if you verify a file soon after it has been timestamped, you may see a message stating “Unkown or Unconfirmed Transaction.”)
c) Find your timestamped file’s Hash Value with the embedded ‘’COPYROBO’’ mark.

Step 4
Checking the Hash Value:
a) The displayed hash value on Private Link and the Block Explorer page has to be the same, thus it proves your timestamped file is valid and has not changed since its creation as long as the calculation is done from the original timestamped file.

b) To make sure that the evidence you received is correct, you can easily check the calculation of your timestamped file’s hash value. To do this, please search on the Internet for ‘’online hash calculator sha256’’ or ''File Hasher'' or use this website md5file.com;

i) Open md5file.com/calculator
ii) Download your timestamped zip file from your email (or wherever it is stored) to a desktop.
iii) Select/drag/drop the required file.
iv) Check the resulting hash calculation for SHA-256.

c) If this information matches with the one on the Block Explorer, this means your timestamped file was successfully certified in the blockchain and has not changed since it was created. If it does not match, this means the timestamped file is not the right one or has been changed since it was created.

Important Notes

1.
Copyrobo, Qualified Timestamp Authorities and Block Explorers may use different time zones and standards such as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) Zone and Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) Standard. Therefore, you may need to convert the displayed time to your local time zone.

2. All public blockchain explorers can be used to search for Transaction ID (TXID or TXHash) however, they also focus on various categories and hence, the blockchain transaction history is designed/structured based on that specific category(s) such as money (spent-unspent), contracts, registrations, identity, balances of crypto-currency addresses… For verification of copyright purposes, it is only important to check the Transaction ID, Date, Confirmation and Hash Value.

3. Before using any online hash calculators, make sure your timestamped file or hash value hasn't been modified otherwise you cannot see the same hash value on the Block Explorer’s page. If so, you can try downloading your timestamped file and hash value from where it is stored to your desktop.

4. If your timestamped file is in zip format (contain your file and ownership signature) and you have only changed the Zip File name, you can still use verification service, but if you have changed the filename that is contained in the Zip File, your verification result will be invalid therefore you will need to download your timestamped Zip File again.
